PREMIER LEAGUE CONFIRMS SEVEN BOXING DAY FIXTURES FOR 2026

The Premier League has announced its festive fixture schedule, with seven top-flight matches scheduled for Boxing Day 2026. The announcement follows the league's decision to hold only one Boxing Day game in the previous year, which drew widespread criticism. Newcastle will face Manchester City in the day's headline fixture at 8pm GMT, whilst Aston Villa play Leeds at 12.30pm and Hull host Liverpool at 5.30pm.

The fixture list extends across the entire festive period, with further matches scheduled for 27 December, 29 and 30 December, and 1 January 2027. The Premier League brought forward the selection of televised matches to provide clarity for clubs and supporters regarding their planning and travel arrangements. The league has ensured all clubs receive a minimum 60-hour break between consecutive fixtures during this congested period.

On 27 December, Frank Lampard's Coventry will face Chelsea, whilst defending champions Arsenal travel to Crystal Palace. The New Year begins with a single fixture on 1 January, when Leeds host Everton at Elland Road. A full programme of eight matches resumes on 2 January across the league's 20 clubs.
