POLICE SHOOT MAN AFTER STABBING INCIDENT IN LUTON
Armed police officers shot a man in Luton on Tuesday afternoon following reports of a knife threat. Bedfordshire Police were called to a property on Cardigan Street at 12.50pm after receiving reports that a man was threatening a woman with a knife. Officers, including armed response personnel, discharged firearms during the response. The man sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains under police watch. A woman was also taken to hospital with stab wound injuries; neither injury is believed to be life-threatening.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct has launched an independent investigation into the police shooting.
