SHEFFIELD UNITED SIGN JORDAN AYEW ON SEASON-LONG DEAL

Sheffield United have signed forward Jordan Ayew on a contract until the end of the season. The 34-year-old joined as a free agent after departing Leicester City at the end of the previous season following the club's relegation to League One. Ayew has won 124 caps for Ghana and captained the country in the World Cup a few months before the move. He previously played for Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Lorient, spending 11 years in the Premier League and Championship.

Chris Wilder, Sheffield United's manager, described Ayew as someone with significant experience at the highest levels of football. Wilder stated that Ayew performed well at Championship level in difficult circumstances during his time at Leicester and has played across multiple forward positions throughout his career. The signing provides Sheffield United with additional attacking options for the remainder of the season. Ayew last played in the Championship during Leicester's unsuccessful campaign following their drop from the Premier League.

Sheffield United have also made moves in the loan market. Defender Nils Zatterstrom, a 21-year-old Swedish player who has not featured for United since joining in August of the previous year, joined Polish side Rakow Czestochowa on a season-long loan. Midfielder Ehije Ukaki, a 21-year-old Nigerian, moved to Bulgarian club Botev Plovdiv on similar terms. Ukaki, who joined Sheffield United from Plovdiv in June of the previous year, made a single appearance for the club in a Carabao Cup defeat to Birmingham City in August 2025.
