TIGER WOODS ACCEPTS FIVE-YEAR DRIVING BAN IN PLEA DEAL
Tiger Woods accepted a five-year driving suspension and a fine after entering a plea agreement to a reckless driving charge at Martin County Courthouse in Stuart, Florida last Thursday. The 15-time major winner had been arrested in March following a collision involving his Land Rover, which rolled over after striking a pick-up truck towing a trailer. Woods had passed a breathalyser test but declined further drug testing at the time of his arrest, which resulted in an eight-hour jail stay before his release on bail.
Woods had initially pleaded not guilty in March to misdemeanour charges of driving under the influence and refusal to submit to testing. The plea agreement resolved these charges through the reckless driving admission. Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr., attended the courthouse hearing alongside Woods.
According to sources close to the situation, Trump made clear to Woods that resolving his legal and personal difficulties is a condition of their relationship continuing. The source indicated that any further legal issues or public difficulties would constitute grounds for ending their partnership. Woods' next confirmed public appearance or statement has not been announced.
