INBETWEENERS 3 BEGINS PRODUCTION FOR NETFLIX WITH ORIGINAL CAST

Netflix has confirmed that a third Inbetweeners film is in production, with the original cast reuniting to reprise their roles. Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas will return as Will McKenzie, Jay Cartwright, Neil Sutherland and Simon Cooper respectively. Production began on 7 September, according to one report, with creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris writing and directing the film. Netflix released a teaser showing the four actors in the characters' iconic yellow Fiat. Beesley and Morris said it has been "super fun" reuniting with the cast and that they would "work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans".

The original Inbetweeners sitcom aired on E4 between 2008 and 2010 across three seasons, following suburban teenagers at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive. Two previous feature films were released in 2011 and 2014, which grossed over £100 million worldwide according to one account. A tenth-anniversary television special aired in 2019. The new film is expected to release in 2027. Beyond the four lead actors, the involvement of supporting cast members remains unconfirmed, though producers are reportedly keen to secure the return of actress Emily Atack, who played Charlotte Hinchcliffe in the original series.

The project follows public comments from James Buckley warning that any revival should retain the franchise's signature crude humour rather than being modified for contemporary audiences. The Inbetweeners has accumulated new audiences through social media circulation of clips from the original series. Netflix has not yet confirmed whether other supporting cast members, including Emily Head who played Carli D'Amato, will return for the new film.
