CAR CRASHES INTO CYCLISTS, KILLING TWO NEAR GRAVESEND
A white Ford Focus collided with a group of cyclists on Sole Street in Cobham near Gravesend on Sunday shortly before 07:50 BST, resulting in two deaths. Kent Police confirmed that a man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s were killed in the incident. A third cyclist sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Three people have been arrested in connection with the crash: two men aged 20 and 21 on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and a 19-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The collision occurred on Sole Street, and the road was closed whilst Kent Police conducted an investigation at the scene. The next of kin of the deceased cyclists have been informed. Emergency services attended and confirmed the deaths at the location.
Kent Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward with information about the incident. The force is seeking contact from anyone who saw the car or the cyclists prior to the collision, or who witnessed the crash itself.
