PENGE AND HILLIER LEAD BRITISH MASTERS AT BELFRY

SUN 30 AUG 2026 GOLF

England's Marco Penge and New Zealand's Daniel Hillier jointly lead the British Masters at 11 under par after three rounds at the Belfry in Warwickshire. Play was suspended by darkness at 19:57 BST on Saturday with both players having completed five holes of round three. The tournament will resume at 07:00 BST on Sunday, with Penge and Hillier remaining paired together for the final round. Weather forecasters predict largely dry conditions in the morning, followed by heavy rain in the afternoon and evening.

Penge, 28, played 32 holes on Friday after the tournament lost more than nine hours to storms on Thursday and Friday. He carded an eagle, 10 birdies and one bogey to reach 11 under after 14 holes before darkness halted play. On Saturday morning, he completed his second round at 10 under overall, holding a one-shot lead over Hillier before the two players headed out for round three. Northern Ireland's Tom McKibbin, who joined LIV Golf in January 2025, lies one shot behind the leaders at 10 under after playing six holes of round three.

McKibbin completed all 18 holes of round two on Saturday, recording four birdies alongside a bogey-eagle-bogey finish. Penge described his progress as "pretty typical" of his play, adding that his latest round was "on the right side of par". The final round will conclude the Husqvarna British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo.
