BEAU GREAVES LOSES TO ROB CROSS IN EUROPEAN TOUR DEBUT
Beau Greaves lost 6-5 to Rob Cross in the first round of the Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest on her European Tour debut. The 22-year-old reached a deciding leg after exchanging points throughout the match, moving to 5-4 up before Cross won the final leg. Greaves required 70 to win the match but made two errors in the deciding leg, which Cross capitalised on to secure victory.
Greaves qualified for the European Tour event after beating Tom Bissell last month, becoming the first woman to do so in PDC history. A victory against Cross would have made her the first woman to win a European Tour match. Her participation follows a notable milestone in April when she became the first woman to win a PDC ranking title.
The Hungarian Darts Trophy continues with Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen entering in the second round. World champion Luke Littler is not participating in the tournament. Greaves' narrow defeat marks a significant moment in her professional darts career despite the loss.
