KAROLINE LEAVITT STEPS DOWN AS WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY
Karoline Leavitt has resigned from her position as White House press secretary. During an on-air interview with NewsNation's Morning America on her final day in the role, Leavitt stated she is stepping down to focus on her family and spend more time with her two young children. She expressed gratitude to her husband, Nicholas Riccio, describing him as "an angel and a blessing" to her and her children.
Leavitt was appointed to the role when President Donald Trump returned to power in January 2025. At 29 years old, she held the distinction of being the youngest White House press secretary in history. Riccio is 32 years her senior, according to one account, or 31 years older, according to another.
Following her departure from the administration, Leavitt intends to rejoin MAGA Inc. ahead of the November midterm elections. No successor to the press secretary role has been announced.
