PACKERS RB JOSH JACOBS CHARGED WITH TWO MISDEMEANOURS
Josh Jacobs, running back for the Green Bay Packers, has been formally charged with two misdemeanours by the Brown County District Attorney's Office in Wisconsin. The charges are misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal damage to property. These charges relate to Jacobs' arrest in May following a domestic disturbance call. Prosecutors declined to pursue a felony charge of strangulation and suffocation, along with two other misdemeanour charges that were initially filed.
Jacobs was arrested in May but has remained available to practise and play for the Packers since the incident. The running back now faces potential discipline under the National Football League's Personal Conduct Policy as a result of the arrest. Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst stated at a press conference this week that the team has prepared for a possible suspension during the 2026 season. The initial arrest involved five charges, of which prosecutors are moving forward with only two.
The outcome of any league investigation could affect Jacobs' availability for the Packers in the coming season. The timing and severity of any potential suspension under the Personal Conduct Policy remain to be determined. Jacobs' legal status is separate from any disciplinary action the NFL may take.
