SUPER MICRO PLANS $7 BILLION EQUITY RAISE TO FUND AI SERVER GROWTH

WED 10 JUN 2026 COMPANIES

Super Micro Computer announced plans to raise $7 billion through equity-related financing, sending its shares down 9 per cent in after-hours trading on Tuesday. The fundraising comprises a $5 billion underwritten stock offering and a $2 billion at-the-market offering, with sales beginning in July. JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs and Citigroup are arranging the deals. The company said the capital will cover the cost of hardware component purchases.

Super Micro also disclosed it has received $39 billion in AI server orders from more than 20 customers over the past few weeks. Revenue in the March quarter grew more than 100 per cent year on year, reflecting rising demand for AI-ready servers. Dell reported its Infrastructure Solutions Group revenue grew 181 per cent year on year over the same period. Share prices commonly fall following the announcement of new stock sales, as existing shareholders face dilution of their holdings.

Super Micro joins a broader group of companies connected to the artificial intelligence sector that are raising fresh capital from financial markets. Alphabet announced plans earlier this month to sell $85 billion in stock, including a $10 billion investment from Berkshire Hathaway. Prior to Tuesday's after-hours decline, Super Micro shares had risen approximately 39 per cent since the start of the year. Chief executive Charles Liang spoke at the Raise summit in Paris on 8 July 2025.
