DEAN BLANDINO SAYS TAYLOR SWIFT CRITICISED EAGLES "TUSH PUSH" PLAY

Former NFL director and VP of Officiating Dean Blandino has stated that Taylor Swift expressed disapproval of the Philadelphia Eagles' "Tush Push" play during a conversation at a private event. Blandino said the exchange occurred at a birthday party for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes following an Eagles-Chiefs game last year. He recounted that Swift approached him at the gathering and said she agreed the tush push "sucks", leading to the formation of a friendship between the two. Blandino made these comments during an appearance on the House of Haymaker show.

The "Tush Push," also known as the "Brotherly Shove," has been used by the Eagles in short-yardage and goal-line situations over the past three seasons. The play involves quarterback Jalen Hurts taking a direct snap whilst additional ball carriers and tight ends line up behind him and physically propel him forward through the defensive line. Eagles centre Cam Jurgens has compared the play's mechanics to "a truck with four-wheel drive", stating that all offensive players must move in unison for the play to execute successfully. Blandino said he had expressed frustration with the play before Swift's agreement with his position.

Blandino noted that Erin Andrews, with whom he works, is close with both Swift and Travis Kelce. Swift has been a visible presence at Kansas City Chiefs games during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The Eagles have employed the tush push regularly throughout their recent playoff campaigns and regular-season matches.
