THREE MAJOR CHAMPIONS MISS CUT AT CPKC WOMEN'S OPEN
Yuka Saso, Minjee Lee and Hannah Green failed to progress beyond the first two rounds of the CPKC Women's Open at Royal Mayfair. The three players, who together hold six major championship titles, finished below the cut line and will not compete in the weekend rounds. Saso shot 71-75 for a total of 6-over par, whilst Lee recorded back-to-back rounds of 75 to finish 10-over par.
Saso's performance marked her eighth missed cut in ten major championship starts, according to LPGA records. The two-time U.S. Women's Open champion has struggled with consistency throughout 2026, missing the cut in eight of her seventeen tournament starts this season, including the U.S. Women's Open and the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. She did achieve a tied-twelfth finish at the AIG Women's Open in recent weeks, demonstrating that her form remains variable rather than departed.
Lee arrived at the tournament as the previous year's runner-up, with elevated expectations for another strong showing. Her early exit continues a pattern of declining form documented over several months, with the golfer herself acknowledging that the sport had proved "humbling". At the Scottish Open, Lee withdrew after two rounds when her score reached 23-over par.
