COWBOYS PLAYER LAMB'S HOME BURGLARISED DURING TRAINING CAMP

SUN 23 AUG 2026 US SPORTS

CeeDee Lamb's home in Fairview, Dallas, was burgled while he attended NFL training camp in California, with thieves stealing approximately $300,000 in belongings. According to Fairview Police Department records obtained by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the burglar entered through a broken window and took four luxury bags among other items. A worker helping with renovations discovered the damage on 31 July and alerted police. At present, police have no suspects and the investigation remains ongoing.

Lamb is the second Dallas Cowboys player to experience a home burglary in three years; defensive tackle Linval Joseph's Minnesota home was burgled in November 2024. The burglaries form part of a broader pattern affecting NFL players. Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Shedeur Sanders have been targets of similar crimes. Since 2024, seven people have been arrested and charged in connection with burglaries involving NFL players, prompting the league to issue a security alert.

According to the NFL's security guidance, burglars typically use public records to identify players' addresses, conduct surveillance and monitor team schedules and players' social media accounts to determine when homes are unoccupied. The league has advised players to restrict location sharing when away from home. Historically, most burglaries of athlete homes occurred during games when properties stood empty; however, the Lamb incident occurred whilst he was attending training camp in California, suggesting a shift in criminal timing.
