BIGXTTHAPLUG ARRESTED ON DRUG AND GUN CHARGES IN TEXAS

Xavier Landum, who records as BigXthaPlug, was arrested on Friday 21 August in Allen, Texas on charges of driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession of less than 2 ounces, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Allen Police Department pulled him over and booked him into Collin County Jail. The arrest occurred on the day he was scheduled to perform at Manitoba's Country Rising Festival in Winnipeg, which he did not attend. Festival organisers stated they understood fans' disappointment over his absence due to a "personal emergency".

Landum was on bail at the time of his arrest, following an arrest exactly one year earlier on similar charges involving marijuana possession and unlawful firearm possession in Dallas. According to one report, the earlier case continues. The country-rap and southern hip-hop artist, aged 28, also faced comparable charges in 2022 while in solitary confinement, during which time he wrote material for his debut album 'Amar'.

Despite the arrest, BigXthaPlug performed at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand on Saturday 22 August. On Instagram before his performance, he told fans he was on his way, and subsequently posted a thumbnail of his mugshot whilst teasing an upcoming album and new track. Landum rose to prominence in 2023 with viral singles including 'Texas', 'The Largest' and 'Mmhmm'. He performed at Wireless Festival in the United Kingdom in 2025 and has released three studio albums: 'Amar', 'Take Care' and 'I Hope You're Happy'.
