RAVENS WIDE RECEIVER BATEMAN CHARGED OVER JUNE INCIDENT
Rashod Bateman, a wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens, faces three criminal charges stemming from a 3 June incident in Georgia. According to court records, Bateman allegedly smashed windows on his ex-girlfriend's car whilst their three-month-old child sat in a car seat inside the vehicle. He was charged with battery involving family violence, reckless conduct and first-degree criminal damage to property.
An arrest warrant indicates Bateman used an object to break the windshield and driver's side windows. The alleged victim sustained multiple small lacerations and contusions to her face from the shattered glass. Weeks after the incident, Bateman requested the court remove a no-contact order after the alleged victim indicated she wanted contact with him. The court approved the request but ordered that Bateman have no violent contact with her.
The Ravens said in a statement that they were aware of the situation and had been in direct communication with Bateman. The team notified the National Football League office and said it had been cooperating throughout the legal process. The team declined to comment further, citing the pending legal matter. Bateman entered his sixth season with Baltimore in 2026.
