TAYLOR SHERIDAN SCRAPS FOUR SIXES RANCH SPIN-OFF PLAN
Taylor Sheridan has stated that a planned Yellowstone spin-off centred on Four Sixes Ranch will not proceed. Sheridan, who created Yellowstone and its spin-offs for Paramount+, said this week that he would "never fictionalise that ranch" and that there was "never going to be" a series based on it. Paramount had announced in 2021 that a spin-off titled 6666 was in development, but Sheridan has now clarified the project has been scrapped.
Sheridan began his career as an actor, appearing in Veronica Mars and Sons of Anarchy before transitioning to screenwriting. He has described experiencing homelessness during his acting career, stating he lived in his car for six months when work became scarce. He later sold a screenplay for the 2016 western drama Hell or High Water, which starred Chris Pine and Ben Foster and received four Oscar nominations, and used the proceeds to purchase property in Wyoming.
Sheridan is now among the largest landowners in Texas, owning both Bosque Ranch—where he lives and works—and Four Sixes Ranch. According to one report, he initially considered retirement after the success of Yellowstone but returned to work following an opportunity to purchase a second ranch in Texas, with the acquisition reportedly valued at $330 million.
