USAIN BOLT APPEARS IN WYTHENSHAWE FC VETERANS SQUAD LIST
Usain Bolt's name has appeared in the online squad list for Wythenshawe FC Veterans, a Sunday league team based in Greater Manchester. The eight-time Olympic champion, who holds world records in the 100 metres and 200 metres, is listed on the Football Association's Full-Time website. Wythenshawe FC have not yet announced Bolt's signing and were contacted for comment by the publication.
Wythenshawe FC play in the Cheshire Veterans League and feature several former Premier League players. The squad includes Danny Drinkwater, Antonio Valencia, Joleon Lescott, Emile Heskey, Marc Albrighton, Nedum Onuoha and Papiss Cissé. Stephen Ireland, a former Manchester City and Republic of Ireland midfielder, manages the team. Last season, their squad accumulated more than 1,800 English top-flight appearances combined.
Bolt retired from competitive athletics following the World Championships in 2017 and subsequently attempted to pursue a professional football career. He briefly played for Australian side Central Coast Mariners during that period. The Jamaican is an established Manchester United supporter and has regularly participated in Football Aid charity matches over the past decade.
