PHOEBE BRIDGERS CELEBRATES UK NUMBER ONE ALBUM FROM HOSPITAL BED

FRI 21 AUG 2026 MUSIC

Phoebe Bridgers announced rescheduled dates for cancelled UK shows whilst recovering from appendicitis in hospital on 21 August. The singer-songwriter's third studio album 'Lost Weekend', released on 14 August, reached Number One on the UK Albums Chart. Bridgers was photographed holding her Number One album award in her hospital bed on the day the chart position was confirmed. The album also topped the Vinyl Albums Chart and Record Store Chart in the UK, marking the first Number One for her independent label Dead Oceans.

Bridgers had performed two intimate, phone-free concerts at London's Union Chapel on 17 August, her thirty-second birthday, as part of the album's launch. Three further shows scheduled for the same week in Kingston, Brighton and Bristol were cancelled due to her hospitalisation for appendicitis treatment. 'Lost Weekend' surpasses the Number Six peak achieved by her previous solo record 'Punisher' in 2020, although Bridgers did reach Number One as part of the band Boygenius, alongside Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus, with their album 'The Record' in 2023.

The cancelled dates will be rescheduled for December, following the conclusion of Bridgers' UK and European arena tour. Two shows each will take place in Bristol, Brighton and Kingston on 15, 16 and 17 December respectively. Existing tickets remain valid for the rescheduled performances. All shows will maintain the phone-free format, with devices secured in Yondr pouches throughout each performance.
