STROUD PLAYS LIMITED ROLE IN TEXANS' PRE-SEASON GAME
Quarterback C.J. Stroud appeared in his first game action since the Houston Texans' postseason exit, playing 10 snaps in the team's opening possession. Stroud completed 4 of 6 passes for 27 yards and led the Texans to a touchdown before being removed from the game. Running back Woody Marks scored on a 20-yard run to conclude Stroud's time on the field.
The Texans built a 17-0 first-quarter lead through multiple scoring drives. Rookie linebacker Wade Woodaz returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown, whilst kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn added a 51-yard field goal on an eight-play drive orchestrated by backup quarterback Davis Mills. Marks carried the ball four times for 37 yards and caught one pass for 6 yards during the early offensive sequence.
Stroud had recorded seven turnovers across two playoff games in the previous season, including four interceptions in the divisional-round loss to the New England Patriots. According to one report, contract negotiations between Stroud and the franchise remain ongoing as he enters his fourth year with the organisation.
