BELFAST MAN STABBED IN HEAD AND LEFT FIGHTING FOR LIFE ON KINNAIRD AVENUE

A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in the head in Belfast on Monday night. The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed officers were called to Kinnaird Avenue at around 10.30pm. A bystander intervened during the attack, using a hurley stick to confront the attacker. The suspect is a Sudanese asylum seeker who had travelled from Paris to Dublin before entering the United Kingdom by bus.

The suspect was subsequently granted leave to remain in the United Kingdom seven months after his arrival. The attack on Kinnaird Avenue drew widespread attention following reports that the nature of the injuries sustained was severe. The Police Service of Northern Ireland responded to the scene following the reports of a stabbing to the head. The bystander who intervened was reported to have confronted the attacker directly before officers arrived.
