AMAZON ROLLS OUT ALEXA PLUS TO ALL US FIRE TV USERS FOR FREE

Amazon announced on Wednesday that it will provide Alexa Plus to all Fire TV device owners in the United States at no cost, regardless of subscription status. The rollout applies to users with Amazon Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, Amazon Ember smart TVs, and compatible devices from manufacturers including Panasonic and Hisense. Previously, access to Alexa Plus required a Prime or Alexa Plus subscription. Amazon stated that the upgrade will be applied automatically to all Fire TV owners.

Alexa Plus is a conversational artificial intelligence assistant designed to provide film and television recommendations based on user mood, allow viewers to jump to specific scenes, and answer questions about on-screen content. The service connects to compatible smart home devices, enabling users to control lighting, door locks and access camera feeds. Amazon indicated that additional devices and regions may receive the upgrade in future.

The company did not provide a timeline for expansion beyond the United States or specify which additional devices and regions it may target. Amazon stated that the service aims to reduce reliance on mobile phones for television control and content discovery.
