The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to sign wide receiver Keenan Allen to a one-year contract worth up to $8.32 million with incentives, according to reports. The signing comes as the Colts manage the absence of their primary receiver Alec Pierce, who remains sidelined without a confirmed return date. Allen, a six-time Pro Bowler, will reunite with Colts head coach Shane Steichen, with whom he previously worked during his time with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Allen completed the 2025 season with the Chargers after spending one year with the Chicago Bears in 2024. During his most recent campaign with Los Angeles, he appeared in all sixteen games for the first time since 2019, recording 81 catches for 777 yards and four touchdowns despite being limited to 55.1 per cent of offensive snaps. Across thirteen seasons in the NFL, Allen has recorded at least 80 catches and six touchdowns in the same year on seven separate occasions. His teammates credited him with particular effectiveness on third-down plays, earning him the nickname "third and Keenan".

At 34 years old, Allen enters his fourteenth NFL season after being drafted by the Chargers in the third round in 2013, where he spent his first eleven seasons. The Colts' recruitment of Allen addresses depth concerns at wide receiver as the team prepares for the upcoming season alongside quarterback Daniel Jones.
