LOS ANGELES RAMS LINEMAN ALARIC JACKSON ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC BATTERY
Los Angeles Rams offensive tackle Alaric Jackson was arrested on Monday night on suspicion of felony domestic battery. Police arrived at Jackson's home at around 11 p.m. following a verbal argument between Jackson and a woman. Jackson allegedly believed the woman was recording him on her mobile phone and attempted to take the device from her. Officers observed scratch marks on the woman's arm.
Jackson's bail was set at $50,000, and he was released in the early hours of Tuesday morning. He attended the University of Iowa from 2016 to 2020 and went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft before signing with the Rams. Jackson has appeared in 57 career games across five seasons with Los Angeles, starting 16 games for the team in 2025. He had been projected to fill the starting left tackle role for the 2026 season.
Jackson's arrest is the third domestic violence arrest involving an NFL player this offseason. Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested on five counts of domestic violence on 26 May, though the district attorney's office subsequently indicated it wished to conduct further investigation before pursuing charges. Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper and his long-term girlfriend were arrested on suspicion of misdemeanour domestic violence and misdemeanour criminal mischief on 4 June. Cooper pleaded not guilty on 8 June and has a motions hearing scheduled for 6 July, with a jury trial expected to begin on 22 July.
