VON MILLER SIGNS WITH DALLAS COWBOYS ON ONE-YEAR DEAL
Von Miller signed with the Dallas Cowboys on a one-year contract, the defensive player announced on Instagram and in subsequent media appearances. Miller, who was born and raised in DeSoto, Texas, approximately 24 miles from AT&T Stadium, described the move as "a dream within a dream". He stated that the Cowboys were the first team to contact him about a week before training camp, and that he has family in the Dallas area during the offseason. Miller is expected to join the team on the West Coast during their California training camp before returning to Texas.
Miller recorded nine sacks last season whilst playing for the Commanders at age 36, playing 37 per cent of defensive snaps. Over 15 seasons with the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills and Washington Commanders, he accumulated 138.5 career sacks. Miller earned Super Bowl MVP honours with Denver's 2015 championship team and won a second ring with Los Angeles in 2021. He has been selected to eight Pro Bowls between 2011 and 2019, missing only the 2013 selection. In recent seasons, Miller started just three games across the last three years.
Miller stated he expects to produce eight to ten sacks this season. He told the Nightcap Show that he considers himself "the best teammate in the history of the National Football League" and expressed confidence in fitting into the Cowboys' locker room. Dallas completed their preseason opener against Seattle with a 17–7 victory, with the team's training camp scheduled to conclude before their second preseason match against Arizona on Saturday.
