BEATLES BIOPIC ACTORS RECREATE ABBEY ROAD COVER
Actors Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan, Paul Mescal and Joseph Quinn recreated the iconic Abbey Road album cover on 16 August whilst filming Sam Mendes' upcoming Beatles biopics. Footage posted on social media showed the four dressed identically to how John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney and George Harrison appeared on the 1969 cover, walking across the pedestrian crossing in single file outside Abbey Road Studios. One shot captured Quinn, who plays Harrison, crossing the road alone whilst his co-stars walked past. The recreation took place during filming at the location where the original album was recorded.
The four-film series, titled The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, will see Mendes direct all four films, with each instalment focusing on a different band member. The films are scheduled for simultaneous release on 7 April 2028. Earlier this year, the first official images of the actors in character were made public. The biopics will be the first-ever films to be granted music rights to the Beatles' complete discography.
The production marks a significant undertaking in bringing the band's story to screen through an expansive cinematic format. No further production details have been announced regarding the individual films or their specific focus.
