ACER SWIFT GO 16 AND HP OMNIBOOK LAPTOPS DISCOUNTED

Acer has reduced the price of its Swift Go 16 AI laptop to $1,000, a $500 discount from the original price of $1,500. The machine is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 processor with 32GB of memory, a 16-inch touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 1TB SSD. The aluminium chassis weighs under four pounds and includes Wi-Fi 7, USB4, a Gorilla Glass touchpad, a 5MP infrared webcam and Windows Hello support. Acer provides a protective sleeve and two months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with purchase.

Separately, Best Buy has reduced the price of the HP OmniBook X Flip by $300 to $699.99. That model features an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB SSD, with a 1920 by 1200 LED touchscreen and a fully rotating hinge for tented or tablet mode. HP states the system can run for over 22 hours of video playback on a single charge, with fast charging capable of reaching 50 per cent battery in 30 minutes. The laptop includes two USB-C ports, one supporting Thunderbolt 4, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1 and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Both discounts come as memory prices remain elevated. The Acer is marketed towards users requiring performance for multitasking, photo and video editing and artificial intelligence features. The HP OmniBook X Flip is pitched as suitable for web browsing and homework tasks, though the Intel Core Ultra 5 is not recommended for heavy workloads or gaming.
