CARDINALS RUNNING BACK LOVE SUFFERS ANKLE IN PRESEASON WIN

Jeremiyah Love, running back for the Arizona Cardinals, sustained an ankle injury during the team's preseason match against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday. Head coach Mike LaFleur stated in his postgame press conference that Love was fit to continue playing had the team required him to do so. LaFleur added that he expected Love to practise during the coming week, though he acknowledged the injury's severity could change day to day.

Love received 14 touches in the first half of the game, which the Cardinals won 27–14. LaFleur said the plan was to give the running back double-digit touches and expressed satisfaction with how Love performed, particularly in pass-catching situations. LaFleur noted that a running back capable of running routes from the backfield creates favourable matchups against linebackers, describing such players as potential offensive weapons.

The Cardinals' next preseason game is scheduled for the following Saturday at home against the Dallas Cowboys. LaFleur did not specify whether Love would feature in that match.
