NICOLE KIDMAN REFLECTS ON TOM CRUISE MARRIAGE IN VOGUE INTERVIEW

Nicole Kidman has discussed her marriage to Tom Cruise in a British Vogue profile published Thursday. Kidman, 59, said she married Cruise, 64, at age 22 and was thrust into fame as a result. She told the magazine she did not concern herself with warnings that the marriage would damage her career, saying she prioritised love over professional considerations at the time.

Kidman and Cruise met on the set of Days of Thunder in 1990 and married later that year. They adopted two children, Isabella and Connor, and starred together in three films: Days of Thunder, Far and Away and Eyes Wide Shut. The couple cited irreconcilable differences when they divorced in 2001. Cruise subsequently married Katie Holmes from 2006 to 2012. Kidman married country singer Keith Urban in 2006 and they separated in 2025, finalising their divorce in January. Kidman and Urban had two biological children together.

Kidman's acting career expanded significantly after her divorce from Cruise, with roles in Moulin Rouge!, The Hours, Bewitched, Big Little Lies, Being the Ricardos, Babygirl and Lioness. She won an Oscar for The Hours in 2003. In previous interviews, Kidman has reflected on the early age at which she married, telling Red magazine in 2016 that she had two children by age 27 and had been married for four years by that point.
