JAGUAR REVEALS TYPE 01 ELECTRIC CAR INTERIOR AHEAD OF OCTOBER DEBUT
Jaguar has revealed the interior of its Type 01 all-electric vehicle ahead of the car's full unveiling in New York on 6 October. The cabin features a minimalist design with a central spine running through the middle, creating separate spaces for each of the four seats. The company states the interior takes design inspiration from travertine stone and handmade textiles, with subtle branding and high-quality materials throughout.
The Type 01 departs from conventional car design in several ways. The vehicle has no rear window and therefore no traditional rear-view mirror; instead, cameras feed a digital display positioned at the base of the windscreen at the same height as the door mirrors. A full-length panoramic glass roof stretches across the cabin, interrupted only by a roof aerial at the rear. The dashboard features a slim main screen alongside a second display with shortcut keys that remain hidden until needed.
The interior layout prioritises a front-to-back visual theme rather than the horizontal dashboards common in electric vehicles, with a low driving position described as comfortable. The minimalist seats are designed to be both simple in appearance and supportive in function. The Type 01 forms part of Jaguar's broader vehicle strategy as the company prepares for its full public debut.
