WEST HAM PURSUE TROY PARROTT IN RENEWED BID FOR AZ ALKMAAR STRIKER
West Ham United are preparing a second transfer bid for Troy Parrott after their initial offer to AZ Alkmaar was rejected, according to reports. The Hammers have identified the Irish striker as their top target for the summer transfer window. RB Leipzig are also understood to be in contention for Parrott's signature.
Parrott joined AZ Alkmaar in summer 2024 from Tottenham Hotspur for approximately £6.7 million. The 21-year-old has recorded 51 goals in 97 appearances for the Eredivisie club and contributed to their Dutch Cup victory last season. West Ham, managed by Nuno Espirito Santo, have been linked with multiple striking options this window and have already added Joel Veltman from Brighton & Hove Albion as a free agent and Manor Solomon from Tottenham for £7 million.
The London club were relegated from the Premier League last season and are among the favourites to secure immediate promotion from the EFL Championship. Their squad includes Jarrod Bowen, El Hadji Malick Diouf, Tomas Soucek and Valentin Castellanos. West Ham have also explored a potential move for former Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy as they seek to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
