ANNA HUANG WINS PIF LONDON CHAMPIONSHIP AS HULL FALTERS
Anna Huang won the PIF London Championship at Centurion Club near St Albans, finishing on 22 under par. The Canadian, aged 17, claimed her fourth Ladies' European Tour event by two shots. Charley Hull, aged 30, held a one-shot lead with two holes remaining but double-bogeyed the par-three 17th before Huang eagled the final hole to secure victory.
Hull carded an 11-under 62 on Friday, equalling the lowest round in LET history and breaking the course record at Centurion Club. Huang led after the opening round with a six-under 67 and shot eight-under 65 on Saturday to hold a three-stroke advantage entering the final day. Hull birdied the sixth, ninth, 13th, 15th and 16th holes on Sunday to take the lead, but her double-bogey on 17 proved decisive. Hull finished on 20 under par, three shots clear of Singapore's Shannon Tan in second place on 17 under, with Thailand's Patty Tavatanakit third on 15 under.
Huang told the LET website that playing alongside Hull in the final group over two days had been valuable experience. Hull, seeking her tenth professional title and sixth LET success, completed her round with a birdie at the last for a final-round 69. The victory marked Huang's fourth LET title.
