SETH CURRY MOCKS DIJONAL CARRINGTON'S POST-EJECTION SOCIAL MEDIA POST
Seth Curry criticised Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington for posting on social media moments after being ejected from a Women's National Basketball Association match. Carrington was sent off during the first quarter of a game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever at the United Centre in Chicago following a physical exchange with Fever guard Sophie Cunningham. Curry, an NBA player, posted on Threads mocking the speed of Carrington's response: "Threads from the locker room after the ejection is comedy!" His comment came after Carrington posted "WHITE PRIVILEGE @indianafever" on her own Threads account whilst in the locker room.
The incident began when Cunningham attempted a breakaway layup in the first quarter and Carrington swiped across her face and neck area, sending Cunningham to the ground. Cunningham stood up and shoved Carrington in response, but her teammates prevented further contact and referees did not issue her a technical foul. Officials initially assessed a Flagrant 1 foul to Carrington, but video review upgraded the decision to a Flagrant 2, resulting in her ejection from the match.
Curry's post placed him at the centre of the viral controversy surrounding the incident. The Indiana Fever defeated the Chicago Sky 90-86 on Saturday, ending a two-game losing streak, according to reported results.
