JAMES AND OLA JORDAN ANNOUNCE SPLIT AFTER 22 YEARS

SAT 08 AUG 2026

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers James and Ola Jordan have announced their separation after a trial separation period. The couple married in 2003 and confirmed the split through their representative on Friday evening. They stated that co-parenting their daughter, Ella, born in 2020, remains their primary focus. One account reported the marriage lasted 22 years, whilst another put the figure at 23 years.

The pair first met at a dance competition in 1999 before both joining the BBC series in 2006. Ola won the glitterball trophy in 2009 during her time on the show. A source close to the couple expressed surprise at the announcement, noting that James had previously discussed the demands of maintaining a long-term relationship. The trial separation occurred some time before the public announcement.

No further statement regarding the split has been issued beyond the couple's initial confirmation. Both remain focused on their shared parenting responsibilities going forward. The announcement marks the end of one of the longest-running partnerships among former Strictly professionals.
