PETER SKORONSKI SIGNS FOUR-YEAR EXTENSION WITH TITANS
The Tennessee Titans have signed offensive guard Peter Skoronski to a four-year contract extension worth $100 million, with $88 million guaranteed, announced on Friday. The deal makes Skoronski the National Football League's highest-paid guard. Skoronski was selected 11th overall in the 2023 draft and has started 48 games across three seasons, including all 17 games in each of the previous two campaigns.
General Manager Mike Borgonzi stated in a team release that the Titans aimed to retain players who form the organisational cornerstone, describing Skoronski's work ethic and commitment to winning as assets the club wanted reflected throughout the building. The Titans had previously picked up Skoronski's fifth-year option in spring, which would have guaranteed him $19.072 million in 2027. Skoronski said in his own statement that joining the organisation was his preference from the outset and that he remained committed to earning the faith the Titans had shown in him.
The extension secures protection for the Titans' offensive line in the coming seasons. Head Coach Robert Saleh and team ownership, led by Amy Adams Strunk, joined Borgonzi in backing the agreement according to Skoronski's statement. The guard indicated his readiness to return to on-field work following the contract agreement.
