SUNRISERS LEEDS BEATS BIRMINGHAM PHOENIX BY 45 RUNS

Sunrisers Leeds defeated Birmingham Phoenix by 45 runs at Edgbaston in The Hundred men's competition. Sunrisers reached 169-7 after being put into bat, with opener Ryan Rickelton scoring 65 from 37 balls, including six fours and three sixes. Phoenix finished on 124-8, falling well short of the target.

Rickelton opened with Mitch Marsh in a partnership worth 52 runs, then added 42 with Harry Brook. Usman Tariq took 2-28 for Phoenix, dismissing Marsh for 34 and Brook for 19. Brydon Carse and Matthew Potts claimed three wickets each for Sunrisers, with Carse taking two in the powerplay. Sean Dickson top-scored for Phoenix with 34 before being caught by Brook off Nathan Ellis.

The victory moved Sunrisers from fifth place to second in the table, surpassing MI London and Welsh Fire on net run-rate. Phoenix, who remain bottom of the standings with one win and five losses, were eliminated alongside London Spirit. All teams have completed six matches in the competition, with Manchester Super Giants four points behind Sunrisers.
