TREVOR NOAH TO HOST GOOGLE PIXEL 11 LAUNCH EVENT

Google will host its Made by Google hardware launch event on 12 August, with comedian Trevor Noah announced as host. The company revealed the hosting arrangement in a video released on social media. The event will take place in New York City and begin at 6 p.m. ET, with live streaming available on YouTube. Other figures confirmed to appear include podcaster Alex Cooper, NBA star Stephen Curry, Japanese actress Ayami Nakajo and Indian cricketer Shubman Gill.

Last year's Made by Google event, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, featured appearances by singer Nick Jonas and Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby alongside Cooper. One report characterised that event as resembling "a live taping of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" rather than a traditional technology launch. Google has previously released advertisement content featuring both Nakajo and Gill for its Pixel products.

Google is expected to unveil new Pixel phones and a Pixel Watch at the event. Product leaks have suggested the company plans to introduce a standard Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and a foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold model. Google's Gemini artificial intelligence platform is expected to feature prominently in the new devices' capabilities and marketing.
