US MARSHAL CONVICTED OF CYBERSTALKING PLOT AGAINST EX-GIRLFRIEND

Ian Diaz, a US Marshal, was convicted in 2023 on federal charges of conspiracy to commit cyberstalking, cyberstalking, perjury and obstruction of justice. His scheme involved attempting to frame his ex-girlfriend Michelle Hadley by making it appear she was stalking his wife Angela. A Netflix documentary titled A Toxic Love Story examined the case and Diaz's plot.

Leslie, Diaz's best friend, has maintained his innocence and told documentary filmmakers she had seen no evidence that would make her doubt him. The documentary's portrayal prompted Leslie to tell TMZ that she believed the filmmakers depicted her as being in love with Diaz. Leslie stated she expected the documentary producers to conduct thorough research on accounts from all those interviewed for the film.

Leslie's public support for Diaz made her the subject of online trolling following the documentary's release. She now characterises her participation in the film as a situation in which she was misled by the documentary makers about how her words and relationship with Diaz would be presented.
