CARSON BECK COMPLETES 15 OF 19 PASSES IN CARDINALS PRESEASON DEBUT
Carson Beck completed 15 of 19 passes for 188 yards and one touchdown in his first preseason appearance for the Arizona Cardinals against the Carolina Panthers in the Hall of Fame Game. Beck, a rookie quarterback, directed three scoring drives of 96, 50 and 61 yards, throwing a 5-yard touchdown pass to Simi Fehoko. He departed the game with 10:15 remaining in the third quarter, with the score tied 17-17, and did not throw an interception or commit a turnover. Fourth-string quarterback Kedon Slovis replaced Beck for the remainder of the match.
Beck played as the third-string quarterback behind Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew on Arizona's depth chart. The Cardinals had recently signed Brissett to a reworked one-year contract worth $15.5 million guaranteed, with the deal rising to $21 million through incentives, according to official figures. Beck's performance drew commentary from observers suggesting it had strengthened his standing within the franchise relative to Brissett.
Beck transferred to Miami for the 2025 college season after struggling at his previous institution during 2024, when he threw 12 interceptions and suffered an elbow injury requiring surgery. He concluded his college career when Miami played in the College Football Playoff, finishing with a late interception in the final game. The preseason appearance marked his initial opportunity to compete at the NFL level.
