PAKISTAN DEFEAT WEST INDIES TO DRAW TEST SERIES IN TRINIDAD
Pakistan won the second Test against West Indies by eight wickets in Port-of-Spain on day four, drawing the two-match series 1-1. Chasing a target of 75, Abdullah Shafique and captain Babar Azam each scored unbeaten 24 as Pakistan completed victory inside 24 overs. West Indies were bowled out for 117 in their second innings, with spinners Ali Usman and Sajid Khan taking four wickets apiece.
West Indies resumed their second innings on 103-6 overnight and lost their remaining three wickets within half an hour on Wednesday. Batter Brandon King was absent hurt during the innings. Pakistan had made 387 in their first innings, in response to West Indies' first-innings total of 344, which included 73 from Greaves and 6-112 from West Indies spinner Alick Warrican. Usman played in his second Test, whilst Sajid Khan took 4-85 in West Indies' first innings.
The victory ends a run of eight consecutive away defeats for Pakistan, whose last overseas Test win came against Sri Lanka in Colombo in July 2023. Pakistan will travel to England to play a three-match Test series beginning at Headingley on Wednesday, 19 August. England named a 16-man squad for the Pakistan series that includes Ollie Pope and Brydon Carse, with Jacob Bethell absent from the group.
