STEFON DIGGS SIGNS WITH WASHINGTON COMMANDERS
Wide receiver Stefon Diggs has agreed to sign with the Washington Commanders, according to multiple reports. The one-year deal is worth up to $12 million, according to ESPN. Diggs will join quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin in Washington's offence. The move comes after Diggs indicated earlier in the offseason that he was interested in playing alongside Daniels.
The Commanders had spent the offseason pursuing San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk as an alternative option at the position. Aiyuk had publicly expressed his desire to join Washington, but the two franchises did not complete a trade. Aiyuk remains on the 49ers' reserve/left squad list. Diggs stated during the offseason that no second wide receiver in the league surpasses him in ability.
The signing concludes Washington's search for wide receiver depth after months of speculation about potential acquisitions. Diggs will now compete alongside McLaurin in the Commanders' receiving corps. The deal marks Diggs' move to his new team for the upcoming season.
