MAN JAILED EIGHT YEARS FOR RAPE IN CARAVAN AFTER WINDSOR HORSE SHOW

WED 05 AUG 2026 CRIME

Ryan Dinnage, 32, of Croydon in south London, was sentenced to eight years and six months in prison at Reading Crown Court on 30 July for raping a woman in her caravan. Thames Valley Police stated that Dinnage entered the victim's caravan in the early hours of 16 May 2022, shortly after the final day of the Royal Windsor Horse Show. The victim, who had been working at the equestrian event, reported the offence later that day, and Dinnage was arrested on 17 May.

During police interviews, Dinnage initially denied any sexual activity with the victim, but forensic evidence linked him to the offence. He then claimed the sexual activity had been consensual; however, digital evidence recovered from his mobile phone contradicted his account and placed him near the victim's caravan at the time. Dinnage was charged by postal requisition on 6 March 2025 and stood trial at Reading Crown Court. On 8 June, a jury unanimously found him guilty of one count of rape and acquitted him of one count of sexual assault and one count of causing a female to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity.

Detective Constable Arshid Ali stated that the sentence reflected the seriousness of the offence. Thames Valley Police said it remains committed to investigating sexual offences thoroughly and bringing those responsible to justice. The Royal Windsor Horse Show, which ran from 13 to 15 May 2022, was attended by the late Queen Elizabeth II in a rare public appearance, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their daughter Lady Louise.
