HULL CITY SIGNS TZOLAKIS FOR CLUB-RECORD £20M FEE

WED 05 AUG 2026 RUGBY

Hull City have signed Greece goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis from Olympiacos for a club-record fee. The 23-year-old has joined the newly promoted Premier League side on a five-year contract. Neither club has officially confirmed the transfer fee, though reported figures suggest it stands at approximately £20m plus add-ons. The deal surpasses Hull City's previous transfer record of £13m, set in 2016 when the club signed Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason.

Tzolakis spent his entire senior career with Olympiacos, making 131 appearances since his debut in 2020. He won eight trophies with the Greek club, including four Super League titles and the 2023-24 UEFA Conference League. The goalkeeper made his international debut for Greece against Malta the month after Olympiacos' European success and has since earned nine caps for his national side. In a statement, Tzolakis said he felt ready for the challenge of competing in the Premier League against top players.

The signing forms part of Hull City's recruitment following their promotion to the top flight. Tzolakis stated his intention to contribute immediately, saying he would give everything in training to help the club achieve its goals. The goalkeeper expressed his enthusiasm about joining a Premier League club and competing at what he described as "the top stage".
