ZELENSKYY PLANS TO INVITE KING CHARLES ON STATE VISIT TO UKRAINE

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he intends to invite King Charles III on a state visit to Ukraine. Zelenskyy indicated the invitation could be extended as early as this year. He made the remarks in an interview with journalists Pippa Crerar and Luke Harding. The comments represent the first public confirmation of Zelenskyy's intention to host the British monarch.

Zelenskyy described his relationship with King Charles III as close, stating that the King has continued to support Ukraine. He declined to provide specific details about the nature or extent of that support. The planned invitation comes amid the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. No date or formal arrangements for a potential visit were disclosed.

A state visit to Ukraine by King Charles III would carry significant diplomatic weight given the active conflict in the country. Zelenskyy's public disclosure of the planned invitation places the matter on the record ahead of any formal communication between the two parties. The United Kingdom has been among the countries providing support to Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion. No response from Buckingham Palace or the British government was included in the source material.
