MAN ARRESTED AT TRUMP GOLF COURSE WITH PISTOL AHEAD OF FUNDRAISER

Authorities in California arrested a man found on the grounds of Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes on Sunday afternoon, two days before President Donald Trump's planned visit for a Republican party fundraising dinner. Jeanine John Taele, 38, was observed walking throughout the golf course taking photographs and videos and appearing to monitor security-planning activities, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. Plainclothes federal agents reported the suspicious person to local authorities. When police confronted Taele, they discovered he was being sought in connection to a robbery by the El Segundo Police Department, located approximately 25 kilometres north of the golf course.

Upon search, officers found Taele carrying a 16-round magazine containing hollow-point ammunition. A loaded pistol and a loaded magazine with hollow-point ammunition were discovered in his vehicle parked at the golf course. Taele faces charges of carrying a concealed firearm and possession of armour-piercing or prohibited ammunition. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said the arrest was announced on Tuesday as Trump prepared to arrive for the fundraising event.

FBI and LA County Sheriff's Department agents conducted a search of Taele's home in Downey on Monday, citing "potential security implications surrounding the incident". The search recovered an illegally modified AR platform rifle, a .45 pistol, body armour, high-capacity magazines, numerous rounds of ammunition for pistols and rifles, and multiple notebooks containing concerning statements. The sheriff's department stated there is "no credible threat to our communities".
