EUROMILLIONS JACKPOT REACHES £84M FOR TUESDAY DRAW
The Euromillions jackpot for Tuesday, 4 August, stands at £84m, with the draw taking place after 8.30pm. Players can enter tickets until 7.30pm at a cost of £2.50 per line. The draw occurs twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays across nine European countries. Ticket holders must match five main numbers between one and 50, plus two Lucky Star numbers between one and 12, to win the jackpot. Entry includes automatic participation in the UK Millionaire Maker draw, which creates new UK millionaires weekly.
The Thunderball game also takes place this evening, with a prize of £500,000 available to players matching five numbers between one and 39 plus the Thunderball number between one and 14. The maximum Euromillions jackpot can climb to approximately €190m, equivalent to roughly £167m. UK Euromillions winners have previously claimed substantial sums: Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester won £184m in May 2022 with a lucky dip ticket, though this record was surpassed in July 2022 when another UK winner claimed £195m without going public. Prior to the Thwaites' win, the record was held by an anonymous winner who claimed £170m in October 2019.
The draw has operated in the UK since 2004. In June 2023, UK players enjoyed significant wins, with one ticketholder claiming £117.1m on 2 June and another scooping £55m on 20 June. Players can select their own numbers or purchase a Lucky Dip ticket, with numbers chosen automatically.
