BOSTON COLLEGE DENIES RADIO ANNOUNCER FIRING LINKED TO NEW COACH

Boston College's athletic director denied that the firing of a radio announcer was connected to newly appointed basketball coach Luke Murray. The announcer had stated he was dismissed because Murray sought to remove what he described as a "losing mentality" from the programme. Murray was hired by Boston College in March.

One report suggested Murray had requested the university terminate everyone associated with the previous coaching staff. The athletic director's statement contradicts the announcer's account of the reason for his dismissal.
