PRINCESS EUGENIE GIVES BIRTH TO DAUGHTER IN LISBON
Buckingham Palace announced on Tuesday that Princess Eugenie gave birth to a daughter at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, on Monday 3 August at 6.20pm. The baby weighed 6lb 9oz at birth. Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank shared the news on Instagram, stating they were "beyond in love" with their daughter. The couple have not yet revealed the infant's name and are taking time to decide on one.
This is Eugenie and Brooksbank's third child together, following sons August, born in February 2021, and Ernest, born in May 2023. Eugenie announced her pregnancy earlier this year via social media. The couple divide their time between the United Kingdom and Portugal, where Brooksbank's work is based. According to the Palace statement, King Charles and Queen Camilla, along with other members of the royal family, were informed of the birth.
The newborn is not styled as Her Royal Highness and will not receive a royal title. She is 15th in line to the throne, with Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, moving to 16th place in the line of succession. A Palace statement said the family were "deeply grateful" to the hospital staff for their care.
