ALAN BRAZIL RETURNS TO TALKSPORT AFTER LIVER TRANSPLANT
Alan Brazil has announced his return to the talkSPORT breakfast show this week following nearly four months away. The broadcaster underwent a liver transplant and revealed in June that his heart stopped during the eight-hour procedure. Brazil, aged 67, spent the recovery period at his home in Suffolk and confirmed on Monday that he would resume broadcasting on Wednesday at 6am.
In a video posted to social media, Brazil stated he would present the breakfast show with Gabby Agbonlahor on Wednesday and Friday, taking Thursday off for medical treatments. He noted his voice and overall condition had improved week by week during his recuperation. Brazil also discussed his observations on the World Cup 2026, saying he disliked the level of commercialisation surrounding the tournament.
The broadcaster said he had missed his radio duties over the preceding three months and expressed readiness to resume full duties. Ray Parlour was mentioned as a potential contributor to the show. Brazil's return marks a significant milestone in his recovery from the major surgical procedure.
