LIONS SIGN TIGHT END MUSE, WAIVE RECEIVER BLACK
The Detroit Lions announced on Monday that they had signed tight end Nick Muse and waived wide receiver Tarik Black. Muse, who has appeared in 16 career games, all with the Minnesota Vikings, was drafted by Minnesota in the seventh round of 2022. He has also been on the rosters of the Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams and New York Jets. Black had joined the Lions in June.
The move represents a roster adjustment in the tight end position for Detroit. Muse's previous experience across multiple NFL clubs provides the Lions with depth at the position. Black's tenure with the club lasted several months before the waiver decision.
The roster change prompted differing reactions from Lions supporters. Some characterised the move as an upgrade at tight end, whilst others described it as self-sabotage by the club. The Lions' decision to restructure at receiver and tight end reflects ongoing adjustments to their active roster ahead of the upcoming season.
